Congratulations to Dr Elizabeth A Ayello on receiving the New York University, Myers College of Nursing Distinguished Alumni Award. Dr Ayello received her PhD in Nursing from NYU and the award was presented in recognition of Elizabeth’s outstanding contribution to the advancement of skin and wound care throughout the world.
Dr Sharon Wexler, President of the NYU Alumni Association and a former doctoral student of Dr Ayello, introduced the award, which was presented by Dr Angela Amar, the Dean of the NYU Myers College of Nursing. The presentation took place at the NYU Alumni Association’s Annual Meeting on Saturday 26 October 2024, where Elizabeth was accompanied by her family.
Dr Ayello is a global leader in the field of skin and wound care and is Immediate Past President of the World Council of Enterostomal Therapists, Co-Editor-in-Chief of Advances in Skin and Wound Care and Executive Editor Emeritus of the WCET® Journal.

Enhorabuena a la Dra. Elizabeth A. Ayello por recibir el premio al Alumno Distinguido de la Escuela de Enfermería Myers de la Universidad de Nueva York. La Dra. Ayello se doctoró en enfermería por la NYU y el premio se concedió en reconocimiento a la destacada contribución de Elizabeth al avance del cuidado de la piel y heridas en todo el mundo.
La Dra. Sharon Wexler, Presidenta de la asociación de antiguos alumnos de la NYU y antigua alumna de doctorado de la Dra. Ayello, presentó el premio, que fue entregado por la Dra. Angela Amar, Decana de la facultad de enfermería Myers de la NYU. La presentación tuvo lugar en la reunión anual de la asociación de antiguos alumnos de la NYU el sábado 26 de octubre de 2024, en la que Elizabeth estuvo acompañada por su familia.
La Dr. Ayello es una líder mundial en el campo del cuidado de la piel y las heridas y es la ex Presidente inmediato del Consejo Mundial de Terapeutas Enterostomales, Coeditor jefe de Avances en el cuidado de la piel y las heridas y editor ejecutivo emérito de la Revista WCET®.
