Congratulations to Dr Elizabeth A Ayello on receiving the New York University, Myers College of Nursing Distinguished Alumni Award. Dr Ayello received her PhD in Nursing from NYU and the award was presented in recognition of Elizabeth’s outstanding contribution to the advancement of skin and wound care throughout the world.
Dr Sharon Wexler, President of the NYU Alumni Association and a former doctoral student of Dr Ayello, introduced the award, which was presented by Dr Angela Amar, the Dean of the NYU Myers College of Nursing. The presentation took place at the NYU Alumni Association’s Annual Meeting on Saturday 26 October 2024, where Elizabeth was accompanied by her family.
Dr Ayello is a global leader in the field of skin and wound care and is Immediate Past President of the World Council of Enterostomal Therapists, Co-Editor-in-Chief of Advances in Skin and Wound Care and Executive Editor Emeritus of the WCET® Journal.

Parabéns à Dra. Elizabeth A Ayello por ter recebido o prémio "Distinguished Alumni Award" da Universidade de Nova Iorque, Faculdade de Enfermagem Myers. A Dr.ª Ayello obteve o seu doutoramento em Enfermagem na NYU e o prémio foi atribuído em reconhecimento da contribuição extraordinária da Elizabeth para o avanço em todo o mundo dos tratamentos da pele e das feridas.
A Dr.ª Sharon Wexler, Presidente da Associação de Antigos Alunos da NYU e antiga aluna de doutoramento da Dr.ª Ayello, apresentou o prémio, o qual foi entregue pela Dr.ª Angela Amar, Reitora da NYU Myers College of Nursing. A apresentação teve lugar na Reunião Anual da Associação de Antigos Alunos da NYU, no sábado, 26 de outubro de 2024, no qual Elizabeth esteve acompanhada pela sua família.
A Drª. Ayello é uma líder global na área dos tratamentos da pele e das feridas e é a Presidente Anterior do Conselho Mundial de Terapeutas Enterostomais, Co-Editor-Chefe da Advances in Skin and Wound Care e Editor Executivo Emérito da Revista WCET®.
