Stronger Together
Since the beginning of its creation in 1978, specialised education has been WCET’s® core mission, ensuring individuals around the globe are cared for by nurses specialised in ostomy, wound and continence care. The largest organ in the body ties these specialties together and is the topic of this years’ NNG® webinar - the skin.
Following our 2023-2027 strategic plan, and echoing our previous President – President Elect editorial, we are delighted to announce that our 2025 Norma N Gill Birthday Celebration Webinar will be a collaboration between ISTAP (International Skin Tear Advisory Panel) and WCET®. It will be our first joint webinar and we are thrilled to collaborate with our international friends from ISTAP. Skin integrity and skin care are also our common bond, the same bond which is at the centre of our tri specialty as Enterostomal Therapists/Stoma Wound Continence nurses.
The webinar title embodies the history and mission of our two organisations, “Skin health and skin tears: doing the right thing: a shared vision for evidence informed clinical practice”.
We aim to air the webinar at two time slots on the 26 June 2025 later in the year, so enabling our global membership to gain access on the day. There will be time for questions on both occasions. We aim to have the recording available on both the ISTAP and WCET® websites and it will be a free of charge educational offering. The recorded version will be available from June to a later date of the year.

Both the scientific and organisation committees have started meetings and are fully engaged in providing a very high-quality and emorable Congress.

Case study template
A Journal Workshop titled ‘How to write a case study’ was conducted by Editor Jenny Prentice and Publisher Greg Paull during the Glasgow 2024 Congress. One of the suggestions to come out of the workshop was for the WCET® Journal to provide a template to help guide authors to write a case study, especially first time authors.
The template has now been completed and can be found in the WCET® Publications section of the WCET® website (wcetn.org) and on each of the four journal platforms for translated journals - https://journals.cambridgemedia.com.au/wcetcn for Chinese, https://journals.cambridgemedia.com.au/wcetes for Spanish, https://journals.cambridgemedia.com.au/wcetfr for French and https://journals.cambridgemedia.com.au/wcetpt for Portuguese. Seguindo nosso plano estratégico para 2023-2027, e fazendo eco ao Presidente anterior - Presidente Eleito editorial, temos o prazer de anunciar que o nosso Webinar de Celebração do Aniversário de Norma N Gill em 2025 será uma colaboração entre o ISTAP (International Skin Tear Advisory Panel) e o WCETâ. Será o nosso primeiro webinar conjunto e estamos entusiasmados por colaborar com os nossos amigos internacionais do ISTAP. A integridade da pele e os cuidados com a pele são também o nosso elo comum, o mesmo elo que está no centro da nossa tri-especialidade como Terapeutas Enterostomais/Enfermeiros de Continência de Feridas de Estoma.
O título do webinar incorpora a história e a missão das nossas duas organizações, "Skin health and skin tears: doing the right thing: a shared vision for evidence informed clinical practice".
O nosso objetivo é transmitir o webinar em duas faixas horárias no dia 26 junho 2025, permitindo assim que os nossos membros a nível mundial tenham acesso no dia. Haverá tempo para perguntas em ambas as ocasiões. O nosso objetivo é ter a gravação disponível nos Websites do ISTAP e do WCET® e será uma oferta gratuita à educação. A versão gravada estará disponível de junho a uma data posterior do ano.

Modelo de estudo de caso
Durante o Congresso de Glasgow 2024, a editora Jenny Prentice e o editor Greg Paull realizaram um workshop sobre "Como escrever um estudo de caso". Uma das sugestões do workshop foi que o WCET® Journal fornecesse um modelo para ajudar a orientar os autores a escrever um estudo de caso, especialmente os autores iniciantes.
