I would like to welcome you to the second edition of the Journal of Children and Young People’s Health. While some aspects of our lives have irreversibility changed with COVID-19, as an organisation – the Australian College of Children & Young People’s Nurses (ACCYPN) and through our journal – our commitment to the nurses who support infants, children and young people has not. Our first edition provided a variety of topics which covered some of the diversity of the specialty of nurses working in this area. This edition continues on that path.

As an editorial team we have been working towards streamlining the resources available to reviewers, authors, and the publishers to facilitate the publication of high-quality articles. Recently, the editorial team have been working with the publishers to progress the journal to an online article submission process. This will aid the speed of response for article submissions and be a more streamlined process. This will provide authors and reviewers with active intime tracking of the articles progressing through each stage of review. This will provide a more transparent process and ensure article robustness and adherence to blind peer-review protocols and processes. The new automated system will assist the editorial team in ensuring a timely response to authors and reviewers on the progress of their articles.

The editorial team are also engaged with ensuring the content of the journal is of the best quality. This includes any future opportunities for advertising. I would also like to remind our readers of the ACCYPN 2021 National Conference at the Hilton Darwin, Northern Territory, Australia 15–17 September 2021 (https://cre8itevents.eventsair.com/accypn-2021-conference/) – we encourage readers to attend. It is a hybrid conference and will convert to an online conference if circumstances change.

Thank you for reading and publishing with us; I am always happy to hear from you.

Kind regards,
Yvonne
