Welcome to the second edition of the Australian Vascular Access Society’s peer-reviewed journal. It is a privilege to disseminate high-quality reporting of vascular access research and practice. Our first journal was strongly received, with over 4300 views at the end of July from a range of platforms. The third edition is due for publication in March 2016.

Thank you to all who renewed their memberships in recent months and welcome to new members. Membership is always open and never more worthwhile than now with local and national events being held, and favourable rates for AVAS members. Soon access to the e-journal and educational material will be in a members-only area accessed through use of a password. AVAS is an active and growing society thanks to your support and contributions.

We are thrilled to announce that registration and abstract submissions to the inaugural Annual Scientific Meeting are open online at the dedicated website avasasm.org.au. We have had a positive response from industry supporting the event, including top international and national keynote speakers. However, this is a networking and educational opportunity for all, so please take the time to consider if you have a study, quality initiative, or case study to share with the vascular access community.

Best wishes,

Samantha Keogh
